Questing Beast
05:43
|
|||
My bloodline is destined to hunt this great beast;
In pursuit my brothers perished, but where they failed I shall succeed.
Leopard, lion, hart or snake; it matters not, its bones i'll break -
I'll never tarry, never rest; this is my life, my all, my quest.
The noise it unleashes sounds like a pack of baying hounds
And tragedy soon follows wherever it is found
Like a monstrous omen of the chaos soon to come
The turmoil it forecasts can never be undone
Stare into the sky as my dreams soar high
My des-tiny lies in the woods near by
Now my fears defied, I've waited all my life
To hunt the questing beast!
On my shield rely, and with my spear let fly
Until the blood runs dry, no life within its eyes
Till then alone I lie, and on my sword live by
As I hunt the questing beast!
Obsessed by my conquest, the days turn into years
At last I catch my first real glimpse; the end to all our fears.
Almost loath to take its life, I cleave its heart in twain
Knowing its death shall bring my own, without the beast I live in vain.

Tulgey Wood

Down the rabbit hole she fell
Her body shrinks, her body swells.
“It might be, if it were so
For we are all mad here you know.”
“Mary Ann,” White Rabbit calls.
The oysters dead – they killed them all.
Tweedledum is logic’s law
Oh Red King do not hold your snore.
The child is lost in Wonderland
Alice does not understand.
Flamingoes are lords of croquet
And never will come jam today.
‘Drink Me’, ‘Eat me’, ‘Who am I?’
Like a teatray in the sky.
Heed advice from Cheshire Cat
But do not paint the roses black.
Twas brillig and the slithey toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe
All mimsy were the borogoves
And the mome raths outgrabe.
“Beware the jabberwocky my son,
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch.
Beware the jub jub bird and shun,
The frumious bandersnatch.”
The pudding cuts a slice of you
A pig snout on the baby grew.
Ravens fill the writing desk
The serpent child is grotesque.
“Take less tea,” the Hatter said
Whilst Red Queen calls, “Off with his head.”
“I’m late, I’m late,” he murdered time.
Your punishment precedes your crime.
Twas brillig and the slithey toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe
All mimsy were the borogoves
And the mome raths outgrabe.
“And hast thou slain the jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day, calooh calay!”
He chortled in his joy.

Tirra Lirra
04:14
|
|||
Four grey walls and four grey towers
Overlook a space of flowers
And the Silent Isle embowers
The Lady of Shalott
There she weaves by night and day
A magic web with colours gay
But a curse is on her if she stay
To look down to Camelot
Tirra Lirra, Lirra Lye
Drifts through the barley over the rye
Calling to her up on high
The voice of Lancelot
And moving through a mirror clear
That hangs before her all the year
Shadows of the world appear
Winding down to Camelot
Or when the moon was overhead
Came two young lovers lately wed
“I am half sick of shadows,” said
The Lady of Shalott.
Tirra Lirra, Lirra Lye
Drifts through the barley over the rye
Calling to her up on high
The voice of Lancelot
Out flew the web and floated wide
The mirror crashed from side to side
“The curse has come upon me,” cried
The Lady of Shalott
Along the river she floated by
Singing to her love goodbye
Tirra Lirra, Lirra Lye
The Lady of Shalott
Forever outside the walls of Camelot
There lies Lady of Shalott
A worded fragment time all but forgot
There lies Lady of Shalott

Lyre of Lyonesse
07:28
|

Lyre, please cast me across the ocean;
Lyre, return my love over the seas.
Sickening, crying, withering, dying,
Isolde, hear my requiem, answer my plea.
Send me a signal, heal me, free me;
Is love so short lived worth a sorrow so long?
If white sails light the shore, the melody quickens
If black sails cloud the bay, here endeth my song.
From Cornwall to Ireland I sailed for his bride
Fatal passion brought by the tide.
Of destiny's potion we strangers drank deep,
Waking as lovers from enchanted sleep.
Tristan, farewell,
Death will renew
(Neither) you without me, nor me without you.
I worshipped my lady, deluding my lord
In quenching our ardour I tainted the sword.
Chivalry fell with a twist of her lips
In rapture we wandered, our virtue eclipsed.
Tristan adieu,
Au revoir,
Ni moi sans vous, ni vous sans moi.
Lyre, please cast me across the ocean;
Lyre, return my love over the seas.
Sickening, crying, withering, dying,
Isolde, hear my requiem, answer my plea.
Send me a signal, heal me, free me;
Is love so short lived worth a sorrow so long?
If white sails light the shore, the melody quickens
If black sails cloud the bay, here endeth my song.
Bliss made us foolish, we did not take heed
Tied to the stake, to be burnt for our greed.
We courted the gallows, the leprosy ring
Suspicions awakened the wrath of the King.
Lady, farewell,
Death will renew
(Neither) you without me, nor me without you.
To Morrois, our forest, we fled in the night
Enough of the Court and its hideous bite.
But Mark never ceased interrupting our dance
Banished from Cornwall, you left me for France.
Lady, adieu,
Au revoir,
Ni moi sans vous, ni vous sans moi
Lyre, please cast me across the ocean;
Lyre, return my love over the seas.
Sickening, crying, withering, dying,
Isolde, hear my requiem, answer my plea.
Send me a signal, heal me, free me;
Is love so short lived worth a sorrow so long?
If white sails light the shore, the melody quickens
If black sails cloud the bay, here endeth my song.
Feverous blur marked my time en Bretagne.
Unknowingly married cold, fair Blanches Mains.
Pulse fades with the song, poison seeps through the cracks;
I take my last breath for “the sails are black.”
Lady, farewell,
Death will renew
(Neither) you without me, nor me without you.
Swoon on his corpse, life is ebbing away
Not for this world, with my last thought I pray:
Together we'll lie, for in death we are saved
Hazel and honey shall marry our graves.
Tristan adieu,
Au revoir,
Ni moi sans vous, ni vous sans moi
Lyre, please cast me across the ocean;
Lyre, return my love over the seas.
Sickening, crying, withering, dying,
Isolde, hear my requiem, answer my plea.
Send me a signal, heal me, free me;
Is love so short lived worth a sorrow so long?
If white sails light the shore, the melody quickens
If black sails cloud the bay, here endeth my song.
Lyre, please cast me across the ocean;
Lyre, return my love over the seas.
Sickening, crying, withering, dying,
Isolde, hear my requiem, answer my plea.
Send me a signal, heal me, free me;
Is love so short lived worth a sorrow so long?
If white sails light the shore, the melody quickens
If black sails cloud the bay, here endeth my song.
Lyre, please cast me across the ocean;
Lyre, return my love over the seas.
Sickening, crying, withering, dying,
I hear the requiem, answer my plea.
Send him a signal, heal him, free him;
Is love so short lived worth a sorrow so long?
If white sails light the shore, the melody quickens
If black sails cloud the bay, here endeth our song.

Kingsword
06:51
|
|||
In the ages dark, in a time of war, when fear enslaved all man,
When our kingdom lay in fragments with no king to rule the land,
I saw the sign upon the stars that at last an heir would rise;
To draw the sword out of the stone and heed all Britain’s cries.
The Kingsword drawn, the crowd rejoiced and a feast was held that day
Yet the signs upon the stars foretold a darker fate.
For a time the King could dream and unite the blood-soaked land
With a golden age of chivalry and the knights of the table round.
Raise the Kingsword and ride into the sacred realm,
Sleep under the stars, become one with the land.
Amongst the forest glades, in which the mystic creatures dwell;
Live by the sword and die for the quest at hand.
Men rode forth from all around to the court of the dear King;
For the glory of being knighted and the chance to fight for him.
The Orkney Kings unsettled, the talk of war did rise
And soon the Northern traitors heard our battle cry!
‘The sword drawn, the squire risen to greatness and the people of the land united, but it seems in tragedy that innocence is not enough. Alas I have seen what travesties have yet to unfold: fire, blood, murder, lust, darkness and, worst of all, betrayal…..’
The fairest maiden came to court to whom the king his heart did pledge
The golden crown, the table round and shortly they were wed.
That very eve an honoured knight did join the table round;
Born of the lake and born to joust he made the dear king proud.

Queen of Two Kingdoms
07:07
|
|||
When I first glimpsed your face on that morning at court.
I felt burning desire that betrayed my best thoughts.
How I've tried to resist, tried to hide from my guilt;
Can it be, I'm the queen of two kingdoms?
How I've tried to put her first and how my efforts have been cursed!
I have to rule, I have to lead; I try my best to meet her needs.
Deep down I know, deep down I feel, that what I dread has become real,
and now I fear she's the queen of two kingdoms.
Careful my Queen try to hide; you can't be seen with me!
Remember to meet me tonight, beneath the Elmen tree.
If we could be somewhere else but here, together we'd be free.
Honour to the wind, virtue to dust; a perfect knight I'll never be.
When I first glimpsed your face on that morning at court,
I felt burning desire that betrayed my best thoughts.
How I've tried to resist, tried to hide from my guilt;
Can it be, I'm the queen of two kingdoms?
I've torn the kingdom apart and I’ve failed at my quest
The grail sought the pure and abandoned the rest.
The Knight of the lake, no longer is blessed
For I’ve made her the queen of two kingdoms.
My dearest friend, my greatest knight; I gave my trust and owe my life.
How could it be, what did I do? What once was mine now lies with you.
But do you know how much you risked, when you first chanced that fateful kiss?
I see the end; the seeds are sown, but can we reap what now will grow?
When I first glimpsed your face on that morning at court,
I felt burning desire that betrayed my best thoughts.
How I've tried to resist, tried to hide from my guilt;
When I first glimpsed your face on that morning at court,
I felt burning desire that betrayed my best thoughts.
How I've tried to resist, tried to hide from my guilt;
Can it be, I'm the queen of two kingdoms?

Seems like so long ago that I dreamt of an age
with no battles to be fought, no wars to be waged.
Now countless years on and we ride one last time
Fulfilling our oaths which we swore as young knights.
Hand me my sword and ready my steed
Open the gates and to battle I'll lead
Knights of the table who still follow me
Ride at my side until death sets us free.
Relive the days, retell the stories
Of damsels and love, of dragons and glory.
The deeds we achieved, the wonders we saw
Will become the legends and myths of folklore.
Hand me my sword and ready my steed
Open the gates and to battle I'll lead
Knights of the table who still follow me
Ride at my side until death sets us free.
The fires of war now light the horizon
Guiding our way to where we will fight them.
Our fates are now set; regrets we have none.
If we die this day, our legacy will live on.
Hand me my sword and ready my steed
Open the gates and to battle I'll lead
Knights of the table who still follow me
Ride at my side until death sets us free.
Hand me my sword and ready my steed
Open the gates and to battle I'll lead
Knights of the table who still follow me
Ride at my side until death sets us free.

True Born
03:38
|
|||
Now out on the field I will battle my son;
I strived hard for peace, by my efforts undone.
Those that I love have been cast from my side,
To rebuild my kingdom that traitor must die!
Dear father can't you see they like what I've done?
The oaths that they swore were lies all along.
Since the die has been cast my thoughts wander free
To the old golden halls where we swore chivalry,
To the knight of the lake and the queen that we shared,
To the greatest of seers and the dreams that we dared.
But memories deceive, the past wasn't so bright:
Your string pulling seer and the Queen’s favourite knight.
This is my last fight, this is my final hour;
I still love you, I still need you,
Even after all we've been through.
Now I ride to my death
To serve honour, valour and glory.
Chosen by stone, I’ll return
For I am the true born King.
So fate has chosen this day, destiny
Guide forth my spear, set this land free!
Let the river of Camlann run red with his blood
‘till the riverbanks burst and the battlefield floods.
Hahaha what do you know of blood?
Seems incest and murder are virtues to some?
This is my last fight, this is my final hour;
I still love you, I still need you,
Even after all we've been through.
Now I ride to my death
To serve honour, valour and glory.
Chosen by stone, I’ll return
For I am the true born King

The Castle Argent
04:32
|
|||
A town lies in rubble
From an unprovoked attack,
So we ride for Castle Argent
To pay the warlock back.
Strength and stamina remain uncertain,
drooling beasts and cowardly traps;
At the summit of Firetop mountain,
Zagor will reap our vengeful wrath.
Through the valleys we ride
Fuelled by the revenge inside
Castle Argent is where it hides
The time to fight is nigh
Now we reach the castle gates
Elven boots can’t cross the bridge.
A wrong step and our hireling dies,
Magic rains down from the keep:
Fireball, destruction, Barbarian dies in vain
Wizard and Dwarf are struck full force
And their bodies turn to flame.
A tragic fight took place this night;
My three dear brethren killed.
I shall not rest until this quest:
Legend of Zagor is fulfilled
Packmule unloads the chests before me
Filled with the daggers of his lands
I cast the die that hath ten side
And Zagor is dealt his final hand.
